NOTES FROM THE UNDERGROUND

monologue by Clara van den Broek

In Notes from the Underground, the main character - who has no name - does nothing but think. He thinks so much that he gets paralysed and ends up destroying everything he owns and does. But deep down, on the squishy grounds of his reasoning, he always encounters a deep longing for a loving person to save him.

Clara van den Broek transforms Dostojevski’s novella into a shivering contemporary piece of theatre.
